Hello Hello!
This is for all of you our non Finnish friends all over the world. Here is a travel blog of three friends: our couple Eero and Laura and the third wheel Elina. We are leaving for Australia with a working holiday visa within the next 6 weeks! Here's the plan: I, Elina, am leaving Finland on 26th of October. My first destination is Dublin where I'll be staying for a couple of days with my friend Frank from back in the days in the Netherlands. Definately looking forward to our reunion and The Big Climax on this trip is going to be The Cat Empire concert! That is one of our favourite bands and something both of us have wanted to see for a long time now! The next day after the concert I'll pack up my things back together and leave for Perth, Western Australia. There are our lovely friends Teija and Jason waiting for us (I hope) and at first I'll be staying with them. So, I will be in lovely Australia on first of November, just in time to escape the worst time of the year in Finland and just in time to enjoy the hot summer of the great Oz.
Meanwhile, Laura and Eero are packing their lives in to the boxes that will wait for their return at Lauras parents place. They're leaving after me, in November. We found that the cheapest way for them was to fly via Bangkok and as they recently fell in love with Thailand, they decided to stay there for a couple of days before continuing their trip to Perth. So, 2,5 weeks after me Laura and Eero will be in Australia and our entourage is together!
At the moment all we have is one way tickets and working holiday visas that allows us to work occasionaly in order to finance our travels. So the plan is to see as much as we can during that one year we are permitted to stay there. We have little savings, our back packs, unlimited amount of time. We don't have jobs to return to: Laura and Eero 's contracts come to an end after next week and I resigned myself in order to do this trip. We're as free as the birds in the sky!
So, this blog is of our great adventure on the land downunder. Mostly it'll be written in Finnish, but we try to keep you guys updated as well if there are any readers for this English version. So feel free to leave comments on this blog!
Over and out.
Good job Elina! :)
